This is one of 5 load bearing columns before the cement is poured.  

 A Honduran cement mixer! Cement is usually mixed on the ground with a shovel here.

 Here's how we pour cement. No fancy trucks here!

 It's a dirty job, but somebody's gotta do it!

 500 8" cement blocks for the part of the wall that will bear the weight of the material we dumped on the property. This is just the beginning, we'll need a bunch more of these.

Wall Construction

Part of our wall fell down during a big storm, and so we've begun to replace an 80 foot section of it with something stronger that will withstand the storms and the material we dumped to fill in the property. Eventually we will have to replace most of it, since it wasn't designed for what we need.
